Skeleton Fun

August 30, 2011 in Mixed Media Posts by Ursula Smith

While riding out Hurrican Irene, I started playing around with our soon to be released Small Skeleton Set. Here are some of the card fronts I came up with. My favorite is the one with the Skeletons riding in the car (Tim Holtz Jalopy Die Cut). Enjoy!!

Here is another idea for using the Ranger Craft Sheet in order to make transfers with Rubber Stamps. It is similar to the technique I showed in this post- http://www.easyscraps.com/blog/blogu.php/transfers-using-acrylic-mediums-and

This time, the medium is acrylic paint. Enjoy!

This is my first entry into Self Exploration and Self Revelation in my Art. I almost chickened out from posting it, but then I took a deep breath and clicked “publish”.

Scrapbook idea- Scrap your Kid’s Conversations

August 19, 2011 in Mixed Media Posts by Ursula Smith

Sometimes kids say the funniest things! I wrote down a few of my kids’ conversations over the years and just found one of those notes, and it made me smile to remember it. So if you haven’t done it yet, write them down now, before you forget. Better yet- scrap it ;)!

Transfers using Acrylic Mediums and Rubber Stamps

August 18, 2011 in Mixed Media Posts by Ursula Smith

I decided to enter a challenge for the new My Craft Channel using one of my favorite techniques with Rubber Stamps. I discovered this technique while playing around making acrylic skins with Golden Self Leveling Gel ( you can also use Golden Tar Gel), and I thought it was fun enough to share .

One tip that I didn’t mention in this particular video, is that you can cut the acrylic skin with scissors or a die cut machine if you so desire. I have several other variants of this technique that I will be blogging about in the future, so stay tuned!!

Paper Shape Emboss on Accucut with Current Adapter

August 5, 2011 in Mixed Media Posts by Ursula Smith

I had to do an updated video for my original post because I had an older adapter that apparently is not longer carried. Not to worry! If you have the Sizzix Big Shot Pro Adapter that you can use with the new Accucut Adapter in order to use embossing folders, you can do the same thing. However, I don’t have that Sizzix adapter, so I shim’d the Accucut adapter with several Accucut cutting pads. 5 to be exact! Then a final one on top for a total of 6. I always save my old worn out cutting pads for useful purposes like this very one!

So here’s the new video- enjoy!
