Today&#8217;s post and video are super short- no addendums, haha.<\/p>\n<p>I demonstrate the new way that I emboss with stencils, Yupo paper cutouts, metal, you name it- anything where I use the Sizzix embossing mat and rubber\/silicone mat. I&#8217;ve shown this a number of times before, but it is buried in the videos or in addendums etc so who knows if anyone has actually seen the footage \ud83d\ude09 .<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve always used the following sandwich-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sizzix Platform with the appropriate tab and possibly shims depending on the thickness of what I am trying to emboss<\/li>\n<li>A Cutting Mat<\/li>\n<li>The embossing item, like a Yupo paper Cutout or stencil, etc<\/li>\n<li>The paper I will be embossing<\/li>\n<li>The Sizzix embossing rubber mat<\/li>\n<li>The Sizzix embossing plastic mat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The problem with this sandwich is that it is difficult to get the embossing piece lined up with the paper when you are placing it down. So I now just reverse the sandwich:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sizzix Platform with the appropriate tab and possibly shims depending on the thickness of what I am trying to emboss<\/li>\n<li>The Sizzix embossing plastic mat<\/li>\n<li>The Sizzix embossing rubber mat<\/li>\n<li>The paper I will be embossing<\/li>\n<li>The embossing item, like a Yupo paper Cutout or stencil, etc<\/li>\n<li>A Cutting Mat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now it is super easy to line things up. cutting mat adds texture to the background and I continue to use it because I like that look.<\/p>\n<p>I leave my plates or my embossing folder or whatever I&#8217;m using to emboss with (if it&#8217;s possible) in the paper after embossing and then use my ink pads over the top. This keeps the paper a bit stiffer and helps the ink go across the top easier.<\/p>\n<p>Yay! No addendums in this video!
